Someone's turning One

I knew I was going to do a terrible job of keeping up my blog. It's been almost 4 months and I've just been too tired and lazy to write anything new. To be honest, I keep my blog kinda as a diary for me. I like to go back and read what was going on months ago. It really makes me laugh sometimes, especially when I read my blog about Calvin being so scary- looking when he was born. But I looked at the pic and again realized that I was right! Wow, who would have guessed thia adorable boy looked like E.T.'s little brother when he was born :)

Well the past 4 months have been a blur. Let me re-cap just a little bit so we can do some catch-up. Thanksgiving was spent at my parents stuffing ourselves with as much food as we could hold. On Thanksgiving, we prepared a lunch that was more like a feast. The boys (dad, Trent, and Wade) wanted to go play golf, so the girls told them if they didn't make it back in time, we would eat without them. Well, the girls ate Thanksgiving lunch alone....and we enjoyed it just being the girls! Calvin was very excited about all the food but his FAVORITE was Cheesecake by far! He loved it and turned into a monster demanding more and more.

We spent a few days before Christmas with my family and Christmas eve and day with Trent's family. Calvin was showered with gifts and tons of attention which he couldn't get enough of. There was just so much tasty and yummy food to munch on, I actually put on 5 pounds!

We are still looking and hoping to move to the Newnan/Sharpsburg/Peachtree City area by Summer. Hopefully this will happen, which will be AWESOME if it does. I will miss my co-workers tremendously, they are more like family than co-workers. I will also miss my ward very much....it has the most amazing people at this church! But it will be better for Trent, Calvin, and I to be closer to our family.

In January, Calvin finally started to scoot around. He doesn't crawl but he can scoot and get to where he wants to be (usually somewhere he doesn't need to be). Honestly I was starting to get really worried about Calvin not crawling around. I complained to the doctor at his check-up that a 10 month-old baby should be crawling and I wondered if something was wrong. She reminded me that I had a super-large, jumbo baby that was larger than most and maybe partly why he had not crawled yet. She also explained that parents love to brag to each other how early their kids hit milestones, as if it's related to their intelligence. She explained every baby is different and if Calvin crawled later, it would be no indication of his intelligence. I guess she was right. So at 10 months and 26 days old, Calvin finally started to scoot around. It's so funny to watch him move!!

The past month I have been totally OBSESSING over what Calvin's first birthday theme would be. Calvin will be turning one on March 3. I finally decided to do A Very Hungry Caterpillar theme and thanks to pintrest I have the most adorable cake and party planned. Now will Calvin know the difference? Well no, This party is more for his mama and to get pics. But I just can't wait to make this cake I have planned,  the cake will just be epic if I get it right. Oh yeah, I mentioned that I don't bake, right??
