The older I get, the faster time seems to pass. The past 2 years have been a blur. There are some days that I catch myself thinking "I just got married!" a few months ago...I mean several months ago...or actually a year ago...No, It won't be too much longer and Trent and I will celebrate our 2 year anniversary. Wow, time goes so fast.
And 2 months after our marriage, Calvin was waiting to surprise Trent and I. I was almost 3 months pregnant before we found out I was pregnant. No jumping up and down with excitement...way too shocked :) But it didn't take long to get excited about this little boy (I knew it was a boy from the beginning).
Honestly, he never stopped crying after this day. If he was awake, he
was crying! Trent and I just didn't know what to do for this poor little
guy. NOTHING would appease him....NOTHING. But he slept through the
night and this was his Saving Grace.
This was by far the happiest day of our lives. We couldn't take our eyes off him. With this being said I couldn't help but notice Calvin was not so cute looking. I even commented to the doctor that he was quite an ugly baby, and that he didn't look like my baby (I don't know...maybe the drugs made me say this). But I was in love with him anyways!! After he was born, I was desperate to get some sleep. So hours later we went to our room to sleep for the night. And our little Calvin went to the nursery. After 2 hours sleep and feeling exhausted, an excited nurse burst in our room to give us bad news. She believed our angel had a heart problem and they had contacted a pediatric cardiologist. My heart sank and I just stared at Trent.

Then morning came and they brought Calvin to us.
He looked so adorable and not the ugly duckling he initially looked like. We couldn't put him down! I just wanted to squeeze him every time I looked at him! And we got good news...No heart problems! Then He started to grow so fast!

Calvin is quite a big baby. At 5 months old he was bigger than the 8 & 9 month old girls at his daycare. It was so funny watching these little babies walk and crawl over to the giant to watch him. He's going to be tall like his dad!
Calvin has brought such joy and happiness to our lives. When I was pregnant, people kept telling me how rough being a parent is and basically "no more fun". I was nervous about how I would feel after having a baby. But come on...Look at this face!!
I have so much fun with this little guy. He makes me smile everyday with all his cute faces and noises. Time flies by, so I'm trying to enjoy every minute with Calvin. These are precious little moments I will never get back.
