I've been anxiously waiting for Calvin to speak his first words. I just knew it was going to be ma-ma, being that I spend the most time with him. No - It was da-da. I was suspicious that's what Calvin had been saying for the past several weeks. I took my sweet, little man for a stroll around the neighborhood because he LOVES being outside and feeling the breeze. Two neighbors stopped to talk with me and asked if he was talking. I started cooing at Calvin and saying ma-ma. Ma-ma. Maaaa-Ma. What did Calvin say? Da-da! But I know that Calvin has no idea what he's saying, so i guess it's just easier to say :)
In the following video he clearly says da-da (just watch the first 15 seconds).
Calvin is such a peculiar baby and has the funniest quirks that develop as he gets older. He is very impatient, easily angered, sweet as sugar for a few moments and then fiercely independent. I just love it! One of his new funny quirks consist of Calvin puckering up and touching his lips against new objects he wants to explore.
